Carolina Herrera’s program notes explained that the spring summer 2010 collection’s starting point was the intricate forms woven in Japanese baskets. 2010 Bridal Dresses | Carolina Herrera Spring Summer
Wednesday, April 29th, 2009
Carolina Herrera opted to stage her Spring 2010 bridal collection inside the Tiffany & Co. flagship on Fifth Avenue. Obviously, the gowns were accompanied by stunning jewelry from Tiffany’s house. Some dresses were combined with hats created by Albertus Swanepoel exclusively for Carolina Herrera.
Each dress was inspired in an artist. For example, Claude Monet gown featured water lilies hand-painted onto English tulle in a strapless ballgown finished with a cathedral veil. Gustav Klimt gown offered a sleeker silhouette, with a tank-style English net gown entirely embroidered with graphic gold accents, recalling the artist’s signature use of gold leaf.
